Finning (UK) Training Academy
If you are considering applying for an apprenticeship with Finning, we are proud to tell you about our new training academy. It is a purpose built apprenticeship training facility based at our UK group headquarters in Cannock, Staffordshire.
Working in partnership with CAT and the “Think Big” programme, up to 24 apprentices per annum will complete a tailored in–house programme at the Academy, with the goal of completing their “Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Maintenance & Repair” within three years.
Highly experienced internal trainers and NVQ Assessors, are responsible for managing the apprentices’ training plan. Instructor led modules will be delivered in eight week blocks followed by time back in the workplace, giving apprentices the opportunity to apply their new found skills, with the support of their experienced colleagues and supervisors.
Housed within the Academy, is the new training workshop, which has eight working bays where apprentices get hands-on practice at assembling and disassembling engines, hydraulic components and transmissions. As well as providing the new building, Finning UK have also invested in new tooling, including four hydraulic simulators and six electrical simulators – a great way for the apprentices to learn the basics of hydraulics and electrics before working on actual machines.
