Finning wins a RoSPA for 2011
The prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards have been recognising health and safety success since 1956 and for 2011, Finning has won a 'Commended in the Engineering Services Sector'.
The award was presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
"Finning takes great pride in this achievement as it's an award that is well recognised by our customers and suppliers and represents the positive steps that we are taking throughout the business to keeping safety high up on the agenda. Finning was the only company in the Engineering Services Sector to be commended which is a great accolade" said Head of EHS&Q, Keith Oakes.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), is a safety charity. The awards scheme looks not only at accident records, but also entrants' overarching health and safety management systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.
David Rawlins, RoSPA's awards manager, said: "RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that have demonstrated their commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition. Finning has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award."
